Manchester United icon, Cristiano Ronaldo has announced the death of his baby son after long-term partner Georgina Rodriguez gave birth to twins. He wrote on Instagram in a joint statement signed by the couple: “It is with our deepest sadness that we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parent can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support. We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time.”

The now heart-breaking clip showed the four youngsters popping balloons which were filled with both blue and pink confetti. The two boys said: It’s a boy and the two girls said: It’s a girl after Georgina had given them a countdown, with Ronaldo adding the caption: Where life begins and love never ends.

It was in 2016, during his time playing for Real Madrid, that Georgina, who is originally from Argentina, met Ronaldo when she was working as a Gucci shop assistant. Her relationship with Ronaldo’s other children has developed over the years, including Cristiano Jr., 11, and twins Mateo and Eva, both four. Georgina was pregnant with her daughter Alana before becoming pregnant with the twins last year.
